Workflows
Start from a template or Ask AI
The 8 workflow templates and what each one does, how Ask AI draws a workflow from your description, what you still set up, and what it costs.

You don't have to build a workflow block by block. A template gives you a finished graph to set up, and Ask AI draws one from your description. Both put ordinary blocks on the canvas, so you can change anything afterwards.
The 8 templates
| Template | What it does |
|---|---|
| Website chatbot | Answers your website's chat: checks the message, has your agent answer, and replies with a Reply block. Set an agent to answer with it, or put it on the widget. |
| Support ticket triage | Sorts a ticket into billing, bug or question: an agent answers questions, billing goes by email and bugs go to Slack. |
| Lead capture and qualify | Takes a lead from your website form, has an agent qualify it, and emails you the good ones. |
| Order status lookup | Looks the order up with your agent's MCP tool and has the agent reply to the customer. |
| Document Q&A with a check | Answers from your agent's documents, checks the answer, and sends anything that fails to a person. |
| Daily digest | Fetches the day's data from an API, has an agent summarise it, and emails the digest. Run it daily from your scheduler. |
| Escalation to a human | An agent replies; when the customer needs a person, the team gets an email and a Slack message. |
| Webhook to summary | Takes whatever your system sends to the workflow's webhook, summarises it, and posts it to Slack and email. |
Steps: use a template
- 1
Open the templates
On the dashboard, choose Build a workflow, then Start from a template. Templates in the Workflows page header and in the designer's toolbar open the same list, and an empty Workflows page shows it straight away.
- 2
Pick one
Search by name or purpose, for example
slackorleads. Click a template, or move to it with the arrow keys and press Enter. It makes a new draft, laid out on the canvas, and opens it. The workflow you had open doesn't change. - 3
Finish the setup
Templates leave out what only you know: the agent each AI block uses, email addresses, Slack webhook URLs, MCP servers and API URLs. The toolbar's to fix button lists each one; click an item to go to its block.
- 4
Test and publish
Click Test run, check each block's output on the Run tab, then Publish.
Making a workflow from a template uses no AI and costs no credits. When no template matches your search, Ask AI to build it opens the assistant with your search as the question.
Steps: Ask AI
- 1
Open Ask AI
Choose Ask AI in the designer's toolbar, or Describe it to Ask AI from Build a workflow on the dashboard or the empty Workflows page.
- 2
Describe the workflow
Say what should happen, in plain words, for example "When a support email arrives, sort it, answer questions with my help agent and post bugs to Slack." A question can be up to 2,000 characters.
- 3
Check what it drew
The assistant uses only blocks SentientOne has and your own agents. It applies the workflow to the canvas at once and tells you anything it left out. Undo puts back what was there before.
- 4
Change it
Ask again to change what's on the canvas, for example "Also email billing questions to accounts@example.com." If the workflow needs an agent you don't have, the assistant offers to create it with one click.
What Ask AI costs
Each question costs 10 credits, charged only when the assistant answers. With fewer than 10 credits it asks you to buy credits, and the canvas doesn't change. You can ask 20 questions a minute.
You're done when
The toolbar's to fix list is empty, a test run succeeds, and the workflow is published.
