Organizations and workspaces

Delete an organization

The owner deletes an organization from Organization → General once nobody else is in it. Its workspaces, agents, knowledge, keys, balance and billing history go, its card is removed from Stripe, and you go back to your personal organization.

Deleting an organization removes it and everything in it straight away. It can't be undone. To stop a workspace for a while instead, archive it.

Before you start

  • You're the owner. To let someone else decide, transfer ownership first.
  • Nobody else is in it: remove the other members under Settings → Organization → Members, or hand it to one of them instead.
  • It isn't your personal organization, the one made with your account: that one goes only when you delete your account.
  • Copy anything you want to keep, such as system prompts. There's no export, and unused credits aren't refunded.

Steps

  1. 1

    Open the organization

Switch to one of its workspaces, then go to Settings → Organization → General.

  2. 2

    Choose Delete organization

At the bottom, under Delete organization.

  3. 3

    Confirm

Type the organization's name and choose Delete organization.

You're done when

The app opens your personal organization's Default workspace, and the deleted organization is gone from the workspace switcher. Your own organization's audit log records "Deleted the organization <name>".

What's deleted

  • Billing first: auto top-up stops, nothing more is charged, and its Stripe customer and saved card are deleted. If that fails, nothing is deleted and you can try again.
  • Every workspace in it, archived ones too, with their agents, knowledge, uploaded documents, conversations, workflows, environments and releases.
  • Its keys: each workspace's secret API key, every widget key and every chat link stop working.
  • Its credit balance, history, members, invitations and audit log.

If something goes wrong

"… has other members" (ORG_HAS_MEMBERS)

Remove them under Organization → Members, or make one of them the owner and let them decide.

"This is your personal organization" (PERSONAL_ORG)

It goes with your account. See Delete your account.

I don't see Delete organization

Only the owner sees it. Ask them, or ask them to make you the owner.
